One of San Antonio’s most iconic bakeries is expanding again—and this time, it’s heading north. La Panadería, the James Beard-nominated café celebrated for its artisan pan dulce, savory tortas, and weekend brunch favorites, has announced plans to open a new location in Stone Oak later this year.
📍 Location: 1011 N. Loop 1604 E
📆 Opening: Expected late Fall 2025
🍹 What’s New: Covered patio + craft cocktails
📐 Size: 6,600 sq. ft. with 100 dedicated parking spots
A New Chapter in a Local Favorite’s Story
Founded in 2013 by brothers José and David Cáceres, La Panadería began as a humble stand at the Quarry Farmers Market before opening its first storefront in 2014. Since then, it has become a go-to destination for handcrafted Mexican and European-style baked goods, drawing in locals and tourists alike with its flaky conchas, crusty loaves, and rich café de olla.
With this new Stone Oak location, La Panadería is expanding more than just its footprint. The new spot will be its largest yet, with spacious indoor seating, an outdoor covered patio, and—for the first time—a full craft cocktail menu to complement their already extensive food and drink offerings.
“We’ve always believed in growing thoughtfully and with our guests in mind,” said co-owner José Cáceres. “Stone Oak is a vibrant and growing area, and we’re excited to bring La Panadería to a new part of the city.”

What to Expect on the Menu
The new La Panadería will bring its signature lineup of favorites, including:
- Pan Dulce: From chocolate conchas to seasonal fruit empanadas
- Tortas: Like the fan-favorite El Campeón, stacked high with fillings
- Brunch Dishes: Eggs, chilaquiles, and buttery croissants
- Coffee & Drinks: Classic Mexican café drinks plus new cocktails at Stone Oak
Whether you’re picking up pastries to go, grabbing a midday lunch, or lingering over brunch with mimosas, this new location aims to be a flexible, welcoming space for every kind of eater.
Stone Oak Gets a Sweet Addition
Located right off Loop 1604, the new location is poised to become a staple in the Stone Oak neighborhood—bringing that signature La Panadería flavor to a part of the city that’s seen major growth in recent years. And with ample parking and expanded seating, the team hopes to make visits more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
